To help students succeed in their courses, the Math Study Center and Computer Lab provide an appropriate atmosphere to study math, one-on-one tutoring and access to mathematical software and web-based software for mathematics courses.
The Math Study Center is responding to COVID-19 by providing tutoring online through Zoom. You can access the MSC Online through Canvas via the Tutoring Hub.

Math Study Center & Computer Lab
The El Camino College Writing Center is dedicated to helping students improve their writing, research, and presentation skills for all their classes. We can help students at any stage in the process and on composition-based assignments for any class.
All our tutoring is drop-in; no appointments are necessary! When you join our Zoom waiting room, you’ll meet individually and privately with the next available tutor. (You might have to wait a few minutes, depending on how busy we are, but we’ll try to keep the wait to a minimum.)
Finally, anything you can bring, such as an assignment sheet, an in-process draft, and/or specific question(s) will help us as we work to help you, so come prepared!
External Resources
Umoja, (a Kiswahili word meaning unity) is a community and critical resource dedicated to enhancing the cultural and educational experiences of our California Community College students. On January 14, 2008, the Umoja Community was officially recognized by the Board of Governors as a legitimate statewide student success program.
The Umoja Community serves at-risk, educationally and economically disadvantaged students, believing that when the voices and histories of students are deliberately and intentionally recognized, students develop self-efficacy and a foundation for academic success.
Umoja actively promotes student success for all students, with an emphasis on African American student success, through culturally responsive curriculum and practices. Chancellors and college presidents from across the community colleges act as a consortium to advise the Umoja Governing Board on program implementation and to generate ideas for securing additional funding.
Our program began 27 years ago with a vision to be the premier Black College Tour program. The success of our program is evident by our sterling safety record, excellent relationships with admissions officials, and the positive impact of the tour on our participants.
Our tours, without question, are a life-changing experience. They motivate and inspire students to work harder than ever to achieve their educational goals. Since our program’s inception, we have successfully taken over 3,000 students on tour, assisting many of them with getting into the HBCU of their choice.
The African American Male Educational Network and Development (A²MEND) organization is comprised of African American male administrators who utilize their scholarly and professional expertise to foster institutional change within the community college system. We aim to create an affirming academic and professional environment for African Americans with a particular focus on African American male students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
