Federal regulations require that you inform ECLA of any change of address within 10 days. You are required to have both your local and permanent address on file with El Camino Language Academy.

To update your address, download the AR11 from from USCIS and submit to the ECLA office.

AR11 Form

You must apply to ECLA by filling out an application and submitting your documents.  Once you have been accepted into ECLA, you will complete a transfer-in form and submit to the office. Your previous school will transfer your I-20 to ECLA, and we will issue a new I-20.  Once your school releases you in SEVIS, you can begin placement testing and enroll in classes at ECLA.

Transfer-in Form

When transferring from one school to another school within the United States, you must follow certain steps to maintain F-1 Status. The start date at your new school must be within five months of your "transfer-out" date in SEVIS or your program completion, whichever is earlier.

In order to transfer to another school you must provide the ECLA with the following documents:

  • An acceptance letter
  • Transfer form from your new school

You must provide us with an acceptance letter when you have decided which school to attend  Your new school will prepare a new I-20 for you.  Once you are released to your new school in the SEVIS system, you are no longer an ECLA student.  If you have any questions regarding your status, you must contact the new school.
