The Office of Title IX, Diversity, and Inclusion (TDI) receives, investigates, compiles reports and makes recommendations for the resolution of both employee and student discrimination and sexual harassment complaints.

2025 CAMPUS UPDATES:

Summer Sessions begin Monday, June 23.

  • El Camino College will be closed on Fridays through the summer session (June 23 through August 14).
  • El Camino College will be closed on Thursday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth; a state and federally observed holiday. Campus offices and services will re-open on Monday, June 23.
  • El Camino College will be closed on Thursday, July 3 in observance of Independence Day. Campus offices and services will re-open on Monday, July 7.

The Office of Title IX, Diversity, and Inclusion develops, maintains and monitors the District’s Equal Employment Opportunity Plan and insures equal employment opportunity and compliance with related rules, regulations and laws. It is also responsible for coordinating and facilitating compliance with state/federal laws and school board policies & procedures regarding unlawful discrimination and sexual/gender-based misconduct.

Major Services Offered and Coordinated

  • Assist in the planning, coordination and monitoring of recruitment, selection and hiring processes to ensure equity and consistency in the recruitment of diverse faculty and staff.
  • Maintain relationships with various community resources to promote equity and diversity within our college community.
  • Monitor programs and activities to ensure compliance with state and federal laws and District policies regarding equal employment, unlawful discrimination, and sexual/gender-based misconduct.
  • Conduct investigations regarding complaints of unlawful discrimination and sexual/gender-based misconduct.
  • Facilitate training for administration, faculty and staff regarding equal employment opportunity and prevention of unlawful discrimination and sexual/gender-based misconduct in the academic setting/work environment.
  • Support and promote diversity events and programs on campus.
  • Provide resources for District students and employees.
 

The Office of Title IX, Diversity, and Inclusion is available to answer questions and provide assistance via appointment, phone, email, and Zoom. Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
