Donate to GSA & Queer is Love Scholarship

For PRIDE Week, please consider donating to El Camino College's Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA) club and El Camino College's Queer is Love Scholarship fund.  GSA is a student-led club that promotes gender and sexuality inclusivity through an array of activities, including organizing ElCo Pride Week. The Queer is Love Scholarship monetarily supports the campus's LGBTQIA+ population and allies with their educational goals.

Jireh Deng Artist Exhibition: Finding Your Voice as a Storyteller

How to Find Your Voice as a Storyteller

Jireh (they/them) is a queer Asian American writer and filmmaker born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley. Their work has appeared in The Guardian, The Washington Post, Teen Vogue, NPR, The L.A. Times and more. They co-direct the Asian American Journalists Association LGBTQIA+ affinity group and serve on the LA Chapter of its national board.

They’ve been a recipient of writing fellowships from the Key West Literary Seminar and Brooklyn Poets. Their poetry and prose have appeared in The Rumpus, Asian American Writers’ Workshop, the Human Rights Campaign, LACMA, and more.

In 2022, they directed a short documentary about a transgender Asian American elder, MIA’S MISSION, which has screened at several film festivals including the 2023 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.

The Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles (GMCLA) performs a free one-hour concert to kick-start Pride Month. They will be singing your favorite hit songs from recent concerts featuring the music of QUEEN, MOTOWN, SONDHIEM, and our favorite POP DIVAS! This is a great way to get to know GMCLA or hear them again for free!

No organization offers a wider range of services for LGBTQIA+ youth than the Los Angeles LGBT Center.  Students and staff are welcome to attend as we tour the LA LGBT Center to see all of the amazing resources the center has to offer!

If you would like to carpool/caravan to the LA LGBT Center, be sure to meet us on campus at 9:30 AM.  Otherwise, we wil see you there at 11am.

Attention ECC students: Order your FREE LGBTQIA+ graduation tassel and stole for this year's commencement!

Stoles come in white or blue and the tassels are rainbow-colored.
