Extended Opportunity Programs & Services (EOPS) provides guidance, motivation, support services and resources to help students complete their educational goals, including vocational certificates, associate degrees, and transfer to four-year institutions. As a comprehensive program, EOPS is driven by a philosophy of providing services that are "over and above, and in addition to" services available to all students.
If you’re enrolled in Extended Opportunity Programs & Services (EOPS) be sure to take advantage of the many services we provide to help you reach your academic and career goals.
EOPS was established in 1969 amid the struggle for civil rights and racial equality. Students and community activists held demonstrations to protest the under-representation of minorities and low-income students in higher education.
In response to the social and political pressure, the state of California passed laws authorizing community colleges to develop EOPS to support economically and educationally disadvantaged students in the community college system.
The EOPS window located in the Student Services Building Room 227 is currently open from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday-Thursday and 8:00 am - 1:00 pm Friday.
If you need to book an appointment with an EOPS counselor or advisor, speak with one of our front desk agents by calling: 310-660-3464
You can also complete our Appointment Request Form and someone will contact you within 24 business hours.
