Grant Development and Management Office Campus Trainings

Enjoy a series, or any stand-alone session being offered! All sessions are open to any El Camino College employee who is interested in learning about the grant process or seeking out a grant opportunity. 

 

Virtual stand-alone workshops

The following workshops are buildable, but can also be taken on their own. Find the topic that suits your needs or interest. Whether you have experience in grants or have never touched a grant, this session is for you!

I found a funding opportunity, but what are all these requirements?

Learn what a Request for Proposal (RFP) is, how to decipher the information, understand the requirements, where to locate the requested information and what format to use.   

                                            

10/06/23    Asset Identification & Mapping   10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Resources, collaborations, areas of strength

Learn what constitutes as an asset and how to leverage these assets. Get guidelines for establishing partnerships and building relationships of trust. Learn how to identify areas of strength and map those assets for reference and management. 

 

10/13/23    Data, Goals & Objectives   10:00 am - 12:00 pm

What direction are we going? What is supporting what?

Have you ever needed to get your purpose across clearly? Or been asked why you are doing the work you are doing? This session will go over not only how, but practice stating your "purpose" and "why" in a very clear format.

That data is showing us what?

Learn how to incorporate data into your proposal and work. Learn what types of data are available, how to access it, how to use it and how to share it.

Inputs, Activities, Outputs, Outcomes, Impact

No need to be an expert! Learn what a logic model is, how to fill one out and feel confident moving forward with your work. Utilizing a logic model works in and outside of a grant.

What is the grantor and the institution expecting?

You know the information, but wonder what to include and how to format it? The Grants Development and Management Office will provide guidelines to reference.

Have you ever had a great idea? Thought El Camino would be better if we had the funds to...? The students would benefit if we could...?

This grant workshop series will demystify the grant process to pursue your great ideas.

Learn how to get started, what resources are at your disposal and how the Grant Development Office is here to assist you.

TBD     Session 2: Proposal Development Process     1:15-2:15 pm

Learn how to strengthen the project design and put together an application team.

TBD     Session 3: Acceptance Process    1:15-2:15 pm

Learn how to get your affairs in order. Preparation definitely pays off!

Learn how to manage the project and funds. Manage project deliverables, reports and, stay in compliance.
