At El Camino, we’re proud to have a welcoming and inclusive campus community that reflects the diversity of the South Bay and promotes equitable outcomes for all.
El Camino College aims to provide equitable resources to celebrate and support our diverse student population. The LGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Intersex, Asexual +) Safe Zone Project was created to support the entire campus community and establish a robust network of advocates and allies.
By creating accessible resources that encompass physical, social, and emotional facets of sexual identity, El Camino College hopes to create a space where LGBTQIA+ members and their allies can work together toward building community on and off campus.
While this work is inspired by LGBTQIA+ experiences, it is created for the entire El Camino College community.
The following resources are intended to be a point of reference and source of support but may not reflect the entire wide range of experiences of those that identify as LGBTQIA+. For additional information or assistance, contact us.

The LGBTQIA+ Safe Zone Project is designed to give service members, staff, faculty, and administrators the opportunity to learn best practices in supporting queer students and their allies on campus.
The program highlights queer history, relevant legislation affecting students, intersecting identities, sexual orientation and gender entities, mental health, student scenarios and voices. This program also provides resources to address the holistic needs of LGBTQIA+ students and their student allies.
