Getting to El Camino just got easier – try the Metro U-Pass!  Go anywhere Metro goes at any time – unlimited!   

El Camino College students who purchase a Metro U-Pass will be able to ride multiple public transit lines using the one U-Pass. Get to and from campus, work, shopping, or go on your next great adventure!

Metro U-Pass for Students

The Metro U-Pass is a discounted public transportation program available to El Camino College students in credit or non-credit classes. Students with a Metro U-Pass can access unlimited rides on:

  • Culver CityBus
  • GTrans (Gardena bus lines)
  • Foothill (Local Service)
  • LADOT DASH
  • Long Beach Transit
  • Metro Rail
  • Metro Rapid
  • Metro Express buses
  • Metro Silver Line
  • Montebello Bus
  • Norwalk Transit
  • Pasadena Transit
  • Santa Monica Big Blue Bus
  • Torrance Transit

Get a free college ID card and place your Metro U-Pass sticker on it to begin riding on these public transportation lines!

First Time to U-Pass?

Follow these steps to get a Metro U-Pass:

  1. Complete the Metro Survey (this is mandatory for first-time participation in the program)
  2. You will receive an email confirming that you completed the survey – save this email!
  3. Bring the Metro Survey confirmation email to the Basic Needs Center for verification.
  4. Complete the Basic Needs Intake form. (Must be completed each semester for renewal of Metro U-Pass)
  5. Once confirmed at the Basic Needs Center, you will receive instructions on when and how to pick up your Metro U-Pass
  6. Show your Metro U-Pass card before boarding and when asked by public transit staff

Students who need a Metro U-Pass can visit the Basic Needs Office and complete the intake form  with our staff to qualify for a free U-Pass now! Drop-in Assistance at the Basic Needs Office (ECC Commons Room 401) is currently available:

Monday - Thursday, 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The Metro U-Pass is prorated in an effort to lower the cost as the term progresses. See below for pricing.

Lost Your Metro U-Pass? No Problem!

If you lose your Metro U-Pass, come to the El Camino College Cashiers Window #4 for a replacement sticker! You will be charged a $5.00 processing fee to replace it.
