Application Process

 

Filing Period

The application filing period will be March 25 - April 5, 2024.

How to Apply

NOTICE TO ALL APPLICANTS:  Due to restrictions and precautions because of COVID-19 all vaccines will be required and a part of the required physical exam and paperwork that will be due by the end of the Spring semester, June 7th 2024. Being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 is a requirement by all clinical facilities no exemptions are permitted. 

Requirements

You must complete the following steps to qualify for admission to the clinical phase of the Respiratory Care Program:

1. ALL non-respiratory courses MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR to the Spring of 2024. ONLY respiratory classes (RC 170, RC 172 and RC 174) can be in progress in the Spring of 2024.

2. The following will be a requirement in order to complete the online application: 

  • a passport sized photo file to upload to the application
  • background check information (click for instructions)
  • unofficial transcript files to upload for all colleges including El Camino College
  • details about criteria for additional points if applicable

3. Physical Exam paperwork will be due June 7th, 2024.  Click here for documents to complete.

4. If the above steps are completed and satisfactory submitted in the online application, then you will be notified via email that you are eligible for the last step in the admission process.  If admitted, classes will begin in  Summer 2024.

Reminders

  • Notices regarding the above will be posted in the RC lab and on the RC Program website on the web, it is your responsibility to stay informed about these policies, deadlines and assignments for background screenings at various hospital locations.*
  • Only after you have successfully completed all of the above steps will your application be complete and accepted for the Summer 2024 RC-176 class. Notification of those accepted will not be possible until at least the end of the Spring semester.
