Accounting

1. Prepare accurate financial statements and associated footnotes, management accounting reports, and tax returns of the business entity both manually and using financial accounting software.

2. Evaluate the financial position, profitability, solvency, liquidity, and taxability of the business entity.



Business Management

1. Create a business plan, using all of the components, for a traditional small business.

2. Examine an entrepreneurial challenges in starting a new venture from the four alternatives of:
         * startups (starting a business from-scratch)
         * franchising
         * buyouts (buying an existing business)
         * family business



Computer Information Systems

1. Students will demonstrate their proficiency in computer literacy through performance in laboratory exercises and objective examinations.



Marketing

1. Create a marketing plan, using all of the components, for a traditional small business.

2. Analyze principles of the marketing mix activities that a firm can control to meet the needs of customers within its target markets. Activities include:
        * Product
        * Distribution
        * Promotion
        * Pricing



Office Administration

Management Option:
1. Identify and apply appropriate features of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software to efficiently prepare correctly formatted business documents and presentations.

2. Synthesize and apply listening, nonverbal, and interpersonal communications techniques in a business setting, and compose clear and concise written communications for effectively dealing with diverse business situations.

3. Criticize, evaluate, and revise the content and structure of written business communications.

4. Key by touch at a minimum rate of 25 gross words a minute with no more than three errors.

5. Analyze and apply appropriate management principles in a function of business.

6. Demonstrate effective management of time and stress while performing office tasks.

Office Systems Option:
1. Identify and apply advanced features of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software to efficiently prepare correctly formatted business documents and presentations.

2. Synthesize and apply interpersonal communications techniques in a business setting, and compose clear and concise written communications for effectively dealing with diverse business situations.

3. Criticize, evaluate, and revise the content and structure of written business communications.

4. Key by touch at a minimum rate of 30 gross words a minute with no more than five errors on a 5-minute timing.

5. Analyze and apply appropriate rules for effectively filing and managing paper and electronic records.

6. Demonstrate effective management of time and stress while performing office tasks.

Office Applications Specialists:
1. Identify and apply appropriate features of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software to efficiently prepare correctly formatted business documents and presentations.

2. Demonstrate effective interpersonal relations skills in diverse business situations.

3. Identify and correct errors in various types of business correspondence.

4. Key by touch at a minimum rate of 30 gross words a minute with no more than five errors on a 5-minute timing.

5. Demonstrate effective management of time and stress while performing office tasks.

Office Clerk:
1. Use computer software to efficiently prepare correctly formatted business documents.

2. Demonstrate effective interpersonal relations skills in diverse business situations.

3. Apply appropriate rules for effectively filing and managing paper and electronic records.

4. Accurately complete business calculations and prepare invoices and other business forms.

5. Demonstrate effective management of time and stress while performing office tasks.



Paralegal

1. Students will prepare pleadings or legal memoranda and/or complete legal documents using forms.



Real Estate

1. Calculate real estate math.

2. Complete real estate forms.

3. Prepare to pass real estate exam.

4. Differentiate the different ways for vesting and holding title to real property.
