Online Prerequisite Clearance Process

Online Prerequisite Clearance Process

The Prerequisite Clearance Form is a convenient way to have prerequisites cleared to register for specific classes for the upcoming semester.  Please be sure to carefully read the instructions in the "Submitting the Prerequisite Clearance Form" section below to ensure that your request is processed correctly and without delay.

New to College Students

If you are a new-to-college student enrolling after high school or have not completed college coursework and need English and Math clearances, you must first complete the English and Math Placement Survey, found on your MyECC portal, to determine your placement. If you have AP scores of 3 or higher, your score reports may be reviewed for possible clearance.

Transfer Student from Another College/University

    • If you have completed coursework at another college or university,  submit the Prerequisite Clearance Form for clearance.
    • If you are transferring to El Camino College and need your transcripts reviewed by a counselor, please schedule a counseling appointment.
    • Please do not use the Online Prerequisite Clearance Form to clear all prerequisites for program admission (e.g., Nursing, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Care). For these programs, your transcripts must be evaluated during a counseling appointment.
