Handshake: The Bridge Between El Camino Students and Employers.
Handshake is a career platform connecting students, alumni, and employers for job opportunities, internships, and career advice. It's a free tool for students to find jobs and connect with employers, while also enabling employers to recruit from specific schools and target specific student profiles. Essentially, Handshake streamlines the hiring process and democratizes access to career opportunities for everyone.
Students
Handshake, is the largest career community for college students. Employers are recruiting students like you on Handshake.
Activate Your Handshake Account
- DO NOT request a student Handshake account through the platform.
- All current students already have a Handshake profile with their basic information.
- Activate Handshake using SSO with your ECC Login and Password
- Note: Incoming students obtain access to Handshake once you are enrolled in classes.

Visit Handshake and create your free account today. Once registered, you can post job and internship opportunities directly to El Camino College students through our online Handshake job board all at no cost to you!
- Targeted Recruiting: Reach students and alumni at specific schools, or those with specific interests and skills.
- Streamlined Hiring: Post jobs, manage applications, and communicate with students directly through the platform.

Instructions for Posting:
To post jobs and connect with El Camino College students on Handshake, employers must:
- Use the organization’s full, accurate name.
- List a company contact reachable by phone, email, or virtual meeting.
- Provide a verifiable U.S.-based business address (no P.O. boxes or private residences).
- Agree to Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE) terms.
- Additional documentation may be required, such as a business license, liability insurance, or D&B number.
All job/internship postings must include:
- A clear job title and detailed description.
- Wage info (hourly/salary/pay range) that meets minimum wage laws.
- Work location (include “Remote” if applicable).
- Schedule details (shifts/days).
