Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month!
National Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM) is observed in the United States from September 15 to October 15, recognizing and celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of the Latino communities whose ancestry can be traced to over 20 countries in Latin America, including Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean.
El Camino College is recognized as a Hispanic-serving Institution (HSI), with Latinos representing the largest ethnic group on campus (52%).

Background
The day of September 15 is also significant because it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September 18, respectively.

Cine y Más: Latin Film Fest Cine y Más produces vibrant year-round arts programing in connection with their annual Latin Film Festival in San Francisco. For the first time ever, they will debut in Los Angeles! A two-day festival featuring the work of emerging and established filmmakers from the US, Latin America, Spain, and Portugal -- 20+ countries and the shared Latin diaspora, in celebration of Hispanic Heritage month.
