Community Advancement

Community Advancement is the economic and workforce development arm of  El Camino College.  

In order to fulfill the college's mission and make progress toward the vision, the Community Advancement Division focuses on the strategic initiative of community responsiveness:

Develop and enhance partnerships with schools, colleges, universities, businesses, and community-based organizations to respond to the educational, workforce training, and economic development needs of the community.

We specialize in assisting businesses and individuals in the areas of:

  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Small Business Operations / Entrepreneurship
  • Training for Employees
  • Continuing Education
  • Workforce Development

Service Area Outcome (SAO):  After attending a Community Advancement class, students will be able to use the information received from the class for personal and/or professional development.

Service Area Outcome (SAO):  After attending a training program, students will obtain valuable information that will enhance their job skills, leading to an increase in job performance.

Service Area Outcome (SAO):  After participating in a workshop or customized training program, businesses will experience an increase in their business' performance, productivity, and/or profitability.
