Policy and Advocacy Committee

The ASO External Affairs Committee is chaired by the Director of External Affairs and focuses on creating and acting upon a local government lobbying action plan. External affairs sends delegations to speak with city government officials, state legislators, and any other local government to lobby on behalf of El Camino Students.

The External Affairs Committee researches, compiles, drafts and presents all state and local government resolutions to the Senate for debate and sponsorship. Fall 2025 committee meeting times will be published in late August once decided on by the Senate. All meetings are open to the public. A copy of the meeting agenda will be posted on BoardDocs when required by law at least 72 hours prior to each meeting.
