Your child's future looks more promising than ever at El Camino College. The College has expanded the South Bay Promise to provide high school graduates with the opportunity to get their first and second years of enrollment fees waived.

The South Bay Promise creates a direct pathway to college and increases access, affordability, and success for all students and their families. It focuses on ensuring high school students feel prepared and ready to succeed in college.

Open to all high school graduates who enroll full time at El Camino College, the South Bay Promise offers two years of free enrollment. Additional benefits include:

  • You will save more than $1,100 in enrollment fees during first year at El Camino College
  • Your child can register for classes early with priority registration
  • Your child will set an academic plan for success and receive personalized counseling
  • Your child will be connected with free tutoring and other academic support services

We promise to commit to each student's success, provide access and support, and ensure they are prepared and ready for their first year at El Camino. Students must complete all necessary steps in order to join the program and receive their first year free of enrollment fees.

Frequently Asked Questions

To be eligible for the South Bay Promise, a student must: 

  • Enroll at El Camino after graduating from high school (gap years okay)
  • Complete a financial aid application FAFSA or California Dream Act
  • Register for a minimum of 12 units in both fall and spring semesters at El Camino
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress
