Through El Camino’s Guided Pathways framework, we can help you streamline your class schedule so that you take only the classes you need to earn a degree or certificate. It’s a great way to customize your education to fit your interests and goals.

Making a smooth transition to college can be challenging. With more than 200 degree and certificate programs from which to choose, selecting a major can become more overwhelming than exciting.
Our Guided Pathways framework can help you explore your interests, follow a path of study, and graduate on time! We are ready to meet you wherever you are on your academic journey and find the best way to meet all your goals. And we’ll be there to help every step of the way.

Our Program Pathways Mapper is an online interactive tool that can show you “program maps” for all degrees and certificate programs offered at the college. Program Pathways Mapper features all seven meta-majors, along with career information and degree and certificate requirements for all El Camino programs. Simply select a major and view all the courses needed to complete your degree.
We’ll help you create a clear path to academic success!
Once you have selected an academic pathway, ECC Connect will help you stay on the path. ECC Connect helps you communicate with instructors, counselors, and other support staff. This network of support includes tutoring, financial aid, counseling, health services, career exploration, and information about campus and community resources for students needing food, public transportation, clothing, and other assistance.

Meta-Majors
Meta-Majors are groups of related majors with similar requirements, outcomes, or methodologies.
Not sure what you want to major in? No problem. Explore your interests through meta-majors, which give you the flexibility to investigate different pathways to degrees and certificates. You can select a course of study and corresponding classes that will keep you on track toward graduation no matter what decision you make about your specific major.
