Supportive Learning Community for Success in CS.

The Computer Science Learning Community at El Camino College is offered in a partnership with the Computing Talent Initiative  (CTI), El Camino College and California State University Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) that provides guidance and support to students looking for a supportive learning environment with like minded peers. The program will guide you through your first year of college and connect you to our industry partners for internship opportunities. 

 If you would like to have flexible access to the support services offered by CTI and are planning to enroll, or you are already a student at El Camino College, this program is for you.

  • Students must submit an ECC Application for the summer term before their 1st fall semester. 
    • ex. 1st fall semester is fall 2023, you will need to apply for summer 2023
  • Complete the enrollment process for El Camino College 
  • Have less than 24 transferable units
  • Completed Geometry, Algebra 1 & 2 or higher with a high school GPA of 2.59 or higher 
  • Would benefit from participation in a supported, guided program with activities designed to support your academic and professional development.
  • A need-based scholarship totaling up to $10K
  • A summer workshop experience before starting the program to build a strong learning community, computer science fundamentals, and study skills and habits to ensure your success. 
  • Opportunities to connect with industry partners through a statewide initiative; CTI Accelerate
    • Engineer-Tech Talks
    • Industry Recruiter Presentations
    • Mentorship Sessions
    • Resume Reviews and Mock Interviews 
    • Technical Interview preparation
  • Receive up to $10,000 in need-based scholarships
  • Graduate in 4, 4.5, or 5 years (you decide the pace) 
  • Enjoy a meaningful career in an industry with high demand and high-paying jobs

 

  • Academic: To help stay on track and ensure you graduate on time, you will be required to participate in weekly meetings with the academic coordinator. These meetings are designed to help you stay on track with classes and ensure your success in all aspects of college life.
  • Financial: Students that qualify for the Pell Grant through the FAFSA Application, are eligible for a $10,000 scholarship for 5 semesters. You do not need to apply for this scholarship. Students apply for this program are automatically considered for the scholarship. 
  • Enrichment Activities: Students in this program participate in conferences, workshops, and internships that will connect them with industry partners earlier in their college career.

  • The Priority Application Period is February 1st through April 30th. The final application deadline is June 3rd. 
  • Applications will be evaluated as we receive them.
  • Students that submit a completed application will be invited to a group interview.
  • Group interviews are conducted in April, May, and June. 
  • You will receive an admission decision 2 - 3 weeks after your group interview
  • If you accept our offer to join the Warrior-Toro CS Pathway program, you will submit a commitment form
  • You will start the program in July.
