The History We Stand On: Library Exhibit

Everyone is encouraged to visit the Library Lobby to view the exhibit, "The History We Stand On: A Chronicle of the Land that El Camino College Occupies," which runs through Sept. 30. The exhibit examines the history of the land occupied by El Camino, from the first inhabitants, the Gabrielino-Tongva, and the contested use of land throughout history, including Mexican ranchos, Japanese tenant farming, and Gordon Manor, a proposed middle-class housing tract slated for African Americans. The exhibit is sponsored by Library & Learning Resources, the Student Equity Advisory Council, and the Division of Behavioral & Social Sciences.
