Communicating Workplace Issues: New Tools Available

El Camino College is committed to providing a workplace that promotes cooperation, collaboration and positive employee interactions. If an occasion arises when you or your co-workers experience and/or witness behaviors that run contrary to these workplace norms, there are several ways to seek help including:

  • Discuss matter with a direct supervisor or other manager
  • Meet with a representative from the Office of Staff & Student Diversity (for issues involving unlawful discrimination or harassment based on a protected class)
  • Share with a bargaining unit grievance officer
  • Schedule an appointment with Human Resources
  • Report through El Camino College's anonymous "WeTIP" program by calling 800-782-7463 or filing a report at www.wetip.com

An additional way for all employees (both full time and part time) to file a complaint, concern, or problem is via the Incident Report & Referral Form, which has been expanded to include a category for "Employee Complaints." Faculty, staff, and student workers can use this online form to officially communicate acts in the workplace involving unfair, dishonest, untrustworthy, immoral, or preferential treatment. Employees can choose to submit reports anonymously and all online submissions are forwarded directly to Human Resources for further follow-up.

El Camino College's mission is to make a positive difference in people's lives. These various access points for communicating workplace issues are designed to make a positive difference in the lives of our employees so that everyone can be heard, and the campus remains a positive place to work.
