Upcoming CPR/AED & First Aid Training
New CPR/AED & First Aid Training classes are now open for registration. The Office of Safety and Health is asking the college community to join the efforts to offer the "gift of life" by attending this valuable life-saving training and become familiar with the El Camino College AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) Program. AED devices are strategically placed throughout campus and are ready to help save lives. Sudden cardiac arrest claims the lives of nearly 450,000 Americans each year. Immediate defibrillation and medical attention are key in these patients' survival rate. The classes are for both first-time attendees as well as anyone who will need recertification. Each class is limited to 20 people per class. According to both the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross, only those certified should check and use AED equipment. The next class is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 16. Register here. Thank you to the ECC employees, as well as police officers and athletic trainers, who are certified in AED/CPR.
