"A Celebration of Chicano Culture" continues through May 18 with a variety of activities. Events will include: "Chicana Literary Feminist Perspectives" presented by West Los Angeles College professor Sandra Ruiz; "The Legacy of the Chicano Movement" presented by University of California, Santa Barbara professor Mario Garcia; "The Nahuatl Language and Mesoamerican Codices" by California State University, Northridge professor Fermin Herrera; "Son Jarocho Music and Dance" lecture and demonstration presented by Conjunto Hueyapan and Nuestras Raices; "Mujeres indigenas kichwas de hoy y de siempre: Today and Tomorrow's Indigenous Kichwa Women" presented by UCLA professor Luz Maria De La Torre; "The Mariachi Musical Tradition" presented by ECC professor Xocoyotzin Herrera; and "Mariachi Music and Folklorico Dance" concert presented by Mariachi Estrella de Jalisco and Ruestras Raices.
