Safety Matters

Student Health Services Offers Support

The Student Health Center is closed for in-person services. However, students can access virtual services, such as online drop-in Nurse Practitioner Advice hours and drop-in mental health "check-ins." Important mental health and wellness resources for students are also available online, featuring helpful tips, resources and online workshops/events. Please view the Student Health Center webpage for updates.

Continued Emphasis on Individual Hygiene

The need for individual hygiene is more important than ever. Please continue to follow these guidelines from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health:

  • Stay home when you are sick. Remain at home for at least 24 hours after you no longer have a fever or symptoms of a fever without the use of fever-reducing medicines.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue, and then dispose of the tissue and clean your hands immediately. If you do not have a tissue, use your sleeve (not your hands).
  • Limit close contact with people who are sick.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipes.
