In an effort to assist students navigating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the El Camino College Foundation recently launched the El Camino Student Emergency Fund with an initial donation of $25,000 from the Foundation's unrestricted fund. Since shifting to online and remote learning, our students have worked hard to continue their education. We are committed to supporting students, whether that means providing emergency assistance due to lost jobs, reduced wages, child care costs, or changes in financial circumstances; increasing support of our Warrior Pantry for students facing food insecurity; lending Chromebooks or laptops for students directly impacted by the immediate transition to remote learning; or adding scholarship funding for tuition and educational supplies. The goal of the El Camino Student Emergency Fund is to help as many students as possible remain in college and maintain academic success. The college will also participate in #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020 as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. Should you wish to support our students through the El Camino Student Emergency Fund, any and all contributions are most welcome and appreciated at this link.
