ECC PRIDE, El Camino College's innovative leadership development program, was recently honored with the California Community College Council for Staff Development 2020 Outstanding Program Award. Widely known as 4CSD, the organization provides training resources and networking opportunities for staff development professionals of the California Community Colleges.
The ECC PRIDE leadership program is named after the college's Statement of Values (People, Respect, Integrity, Diversity, Excellence) and is designed to include participation from faculty, staff and managers across the college community. Launched in spring 2017, the program provides "big picture" perspectives while using sound practices and theory-based approaches in developing effective leaders. Since it began, 91 participants have completed the semester-long program that includes four modules with a job shadowing/mentoring component the subsequent semester. Members of each cohort have strengthened their capacity to be enthusiastic, innovative and creative leaders, ready to help design the future of the college and meet the challenges of the 21st century.
The application period for ECC PRIDE Cohort No. 5 is now available online. To apply, or for more information about ECC PRIDE, please view: www.elcamino.edu/about/depts/prodev/eccpride/.
