Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, El Camino Community College District adhered to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health's (LACDPH) COVID-19 guidelines, practices and protocols. On Sept. 7, 2021, in response to the District's specific operational needs as an institution of higher education, the El Camino College Board of Trustees adopted Resolution 2019-09-07 requiring that all students, employees and visitors show proof of (or exemption from) COVID-19 vaccination upon entry into campus buildings.
LACDPH's guidelines, practices, and protocols are continually updated on an "as needed" basis. In alignment with recent changes in the County's COVID-19 guidelines, on October 17, 2022, the El Camino College Board of Trustees adopted new policy language related to Resolution 2019-09-07. Effective Monday, Nov.7, 2022, El Camino College will no longer require proof of COVID-19 vaccination for students, employees, or visitors.
Daily entry screenings utilizing the World Back to Work app will no longer be required. Obtaining a "Blue Pass" will no longer be required for entry into campus buildings. However, in adherence to County guidance and Cal/OSHA requirements, El Camino College will continue to implement a process for screening COVID-19 symptoms using signage at the entrances of campus buildings stating that individuals with symptoms and/or a positive COVID-19 test must not enter the premises.
COVID-19 check-in kiosks will no longer be in use, however, COVID-19 testing services will continue to be available, free of charge, in the Manhattan Beach Boulevard Modular (MBBM) Building, Room 134. Free COVID-19 booster shots will also remain available at Student Health Services on campus.
