Message from the President

Dear Friends and Colleagues of El Camino College,

It is with tremendous sadness that I share the news that our esteemed colleague, President of the El Camino College Board of Trustees Kenneth Brown, passed away this morning. I received this notification from his family.

The sudden loss of our friend and colleague has sent shockwaves throughout our campus community, and no doubt throughout the many networks and circles that Trustee Brown traveled through. He was tirelessly dedicated to the mission of providing quality educational opportunities to students. He will be dearly missed.

Please join me in keeping Ken’s family in your thoughts and prayers as we give them the privacy and space they need at this time. As you can imagine, the Brown Family is receiving an overwhelming amount of phone calls, emails and text messages of support and condolences at this time. Therefore, please direct any expressions of sympathy for the family to Kerri Webb, El Camino’s Public Information Officer at kwebb@elcamino.edu.

In honor of Ken Brown’s life and legacy the flags around El Camino College will be flown at half-staff until further notice. Any further information will be provided when available.
