Taste of Soul and Mini Black Market Flea
Taste of Soul is a campus-wide lunch in honor of Black History Month featuring delicious
soul food by Dulan's Catering Service. It has been a traditional event at El Camino
College for over 15 years! This event's goals are to create a sense of community between
students, faculty and staff and to expose them to cuisine, business, and artistry
within the local Black Community.
This year, we are partnering with local Black-owned businesses for a unique “Mini-Black
Flea,” outside during the campus-wide Taste of Soul luncheon in celebration of Black
History Month. This will be an opportunity for the ECC community to get exposure to
local Black owned businesses, artists, non-profit organizations as well as campus
resources and student clubs. We will focus on four areas that we believe are essential
to strengthening our Black community: Health and Wellness; Arts and Creativity; Clothing
and Expression; Advocacy and Awareness.
