The Department of Computer Information Systems (CIS) at El Camino College offers a state-of-the-art curriculum utilizing the most current software and hardware. The program is designed for the computer novice, the individual seeking career enhancement, and for the student completing a two-year degree, or transferring to a four-year college.

CIS prepares students for careers in Information Systems. Emphasis is on the fundamentals of business information systems, computer hardware, system software, decision support systems, e-commerce, web development, help desk and telecommunications including network management. The CIS curriculum provides the student a solid foundation to compete in this rapidly changing field that is in high demand in the marketplace.

The CIS graduate will be able to deliver timely, accurate and pertinent information that is critical to decision-making in a competitive business environment.
