Our Purpose

The Social Justice Leadership in Action, formerly known as Student Leadership Institute (SLI), at El Camino College is a training program that provides students with an opportunity to tap into their strengths, skills and authentic leadership abilities through identity exploration, collaborative group activities and site visits to local grassroots community organizations.

   • Students will participate in a 2-Day Training Session on leadership styles, social change movements, personal values, communication, strengths, self-care and teamwork.
   • Leadership in Action student groups will visit local organizations that make a positive impact in our communities.
   • At the end of the program, students will have the opportunity to share their experiences at our culminating Pinning Ceremony and Celebratory Dinner.
