Microsoft Office 365 includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams and OneDrive (with 1TB of storage in the cloud).

Students can access their free Office 365 by logging into their MyECC, scroll down and find the link “ECC Email (Office 365 accounts)” located on the right side of the screen.

FREE for ECC students

 

Microsoft's OneDrive provides 1TB of online storage that students can use to store their documents, assignments, and other files. Students will be able to access their files from any device. (Students must have access to the internet and logged into their account.)

 

Read&Write (RW) is an innovative educational tool that supports students with reading, writing, studying and research. It is designed to help students increase their reading speed and comprehension as well as improve their writing and test-taking skills.

  • Read any electronic text aloud, including PDFs, Word documents, webpages, etc.
  • Highlight and extract text from any document or website to create a study guide, outline, or vocabulary list.
  • Look up definitions, synonyms, homonyms and spell check.
  • Convert text to MP3.

FREE for ECC students

 

Audio Notetaker allows students to capture audio, text and slides in a single notetaking file. They will be able to color coordinate their audio notes to better organize their lecture notes. Improving audio quality and extracting only what is useful to them.

FREE for SRC students

 

Otter allows students to record lectures and have them transcribed in real time. Students will receive a transcription of their audio notes in which they can search for information, as well as play, edit, and organize the notes to become more effective learners.

Otter comes with 600 minutes monthly of free recording and transcription services.

 

Kurzweil is an easy-to-use software that promotes independent learning. Students will be able to use it for reading, taking notes, studying materials, and more, enabling students to comprehend concepts more effectively. Desmos is a free online website that can graph functions, plot data, and evaluate equations. This website also created an app that be found in the App and Google Play stores.
