We're here for you. At the Basic Needs Center, you'll find free and low-cost basic needs services, resources, and support.

The Basic Needs Center offers the following services to currently enrolled students:

  • Basic Needs Cupboards: Locations across the campus (Cupboard Map) for a quick snack
  • CalFresh: Nutritional access program that helps individuals buy food
  • Child Care: Referrals to the CARE & CalWORKs programs
  • Housing Support: Referrals and resources to help students find temporary and permanent housing
  • Metro U-Pass: Discounted public transportation program
  • Technology: Referrals to the Laptop Loan program
  • Warrior Wardrobe: Provides free clothing
  • Warrior Pantry: Offers free and healthy food plus toiletries

The Warrior Pantry & Wardrobe will be colsed  will be closed starting December 16, 2024 - January 6, 2025

The Basic Needs Center will be closed December 20, 2024 - January 3, 2025 for Winter Break

Eligibility:

  • Students must be enrolled for the current term
  • Students must have a valid ECC student ID number
  • Students must fill out the Basic Needs Intake form

Our goal is to feed everyone who is in need, creating a community with Zero Hunger, Zero Waste. The community, (people who are not students at ECC) may utilize Warrior Pantry food services as a portion of our donations are provided directly by the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. Check the  income guideline  to see if you are eligible to receive food from the Warrior Pantry. You will need to check in when you come to visit and bring your own bag for your food items. We have fresh fruits, vegetables and other pantry staples to provide each week.  

Open Hours for the Community:

Community members may stop by the Basic Needs Warrior Pantry during our regular operating hours. We will be happy to serve you.

 

The Basic Needs Center accepts both monetary and item donations year round.

  • Monetary Donations, visit Donate Online.
  • Food Items: All non-perishable foods that are not expired
  • Clothing and Shoes: We are currently accepting all sizes and types as long as there are no stains or holes. We also accept childrens                                                  clothing.
