El Camino College received confirmed reports on November 16 that two members of the campus community have tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the 2019 novel coronavirus. To protect patient privacy, these individuals’ information is considered confidential and will not be disclosed.
One individual was last on campus November 10; the other on November 12. Anyone who may have been present in the same area of campus as the individuals who tested positive have been notified by the Director of Risk Management, Michael Pascual. If you did not receive an email notification from Michael Pascual, you were not present in the same area. Areas the affected individuals are known to have visited before testing positive for COVID-19 have been identified and will undergo thorough disinfection.
The entire El Camino College community sends these individuals sincere wishes for a quick recovery. As always, all El Camino College students and employees are asked to follow the directions given by public health officials and elected officials during this outbreak. This includes obeying the stay-at-home orders from Los Angeles County and the State of California, following correct social distancing practices, and continuing to maintain proper hygiene.
