U.S. Army Field Band and Chorus to Perform at El Camino College

October 5, 2023 Torrance, CA

El Camino College’s Center for the Arts proudly welcomes the United States Army Field Band and Soldiers’ Chorus to Marsee Auditorium 7 p.m. Oct. 17 for an evening of remarkable music. Admission and campus parking are free for this event.

The performance is titled “Heroes,” and is a celebration of the people who have gone above and beyond for their communities. This one-of-a-kind musical journey shares stories of strength, determination, and courage through the generations of those who answered our nation’s call.

The U.S. Army Field Band has spent six decades performing throughout the nation and abroad. As the premier touring musical representative for the United States Army, this acclaimed organization, composed of some of the finest musical talent, is considered by music critics to be one of the most versatile and inspiring musical organizations in the world.

The upcoming concert at El Camino features the Concert Band and Soldiers’ Chorus, both part of the U.S. Army Field Band that perform regularly in some of the most famous concert halls in the world, and just as often in the humblest auditoriums in the smallest of communities. The Concert Band is the oldest and largest of the Field Band’s four performing components. This elite 65-member instrumental ensemble, founded in 1946, has performed in all 50 states and 25 foreign countries for audiences totaling more than 100 million. The Soldiers’ Chorus, founded in 1957, is the vocal complement of the United States Army Field Band. The 29-member mixed choral ensemble travels throughout the nation and abroad, performing as a separate component and in joint concerts with the Concert Band of the “Musical Ambassadors” of the Army.

The El Camino Community College District encourages persons with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities. If you anticipate needing any type of accommodation, or have questions about the physical access provided, please contact the Center for the Arts as soon as possible, but no later than seven days prior to the event.

Admission and campus parking are free, though tickets are required to attend the concert. Tickets are available at www.centerforthearts.org using the online ticketing system or by phone at 310-329-5345. The Ticket Office is open from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays for walk-up service, and one hour before all performances.
