In-Person Center for the Arts Job Fair Scheduled at El Camino College
El Camino College’s Center for the Arts is looking to expand its pool of part-time designers, technicians, and other performing arts industry professionals. The community is invited to attend a Center for the Arts Job Fair from noon-5 p.m. May 21 in Marsee Auditorium.
This is a great opportunity for prospective employees to meet with department supervisors, participate in day-of job interviews, and showcase skills. Participants are asked to bring at least two resume copies and portfolio examples, if applicable.
Some of the available positions include lighting designers, electricians, scenic charge/artists, makeup artists, scenic designers, props artisans, audio and video engineers, painters, stage managers, front-of-house managers, carpenters, projection designers, costume technicians, hair and wig designers, assistant ticket office manager, and more.
Hourly rates start at $19 an hour (for most positions) and increase incrementally while also considering job specification and level or responsibility. Scheduling is flexible based on individual project needs, employee skills, and availability.
El Camino College’s Center for the Arts consists of Marsee Auditorium, a 2,048-seat, multipurpose performance facility; the 353-seat Campus Theatre; and the 180-seat Robert Haag Recital Hall. Known primarily for presenting world-class touring artists and attractions in music, theater, and dance, Center for the Arts staff provide ticketing, publicity, production support and event coordination for over 350 performance, production, rehearsal, and classroom activities.
COVID-19 safety protocols are in place, including wearing a mask at all times while indoors. El Camino College requires that all guests provide proof of full vaccination and complete a health-screening questionnaire before being admitted to the event.
