El Camino College Seeks Members for New Arts Advisory Committee

March 22, 2024 Torrance, CA

El Camino College Center for the Arts is looking for community members to join the newly established Arts Advisory Committee (AAC). The committee is the first of its kind at El Camino and members will be asked to provide programming oversight and selection recommendations for the Center for the Arts’ guest artist, guest ensemble, film, speaker, and resident artist series.

Now in its 55th season, the Center for the Arts offers an entertaining schedule of high-quality shows, concerts, speakers, concerts, films, and favorite South Bay traditions such as the “Nutcracker” each year. From presenting nationally and internationally acclaimed artists to showcasing professional-caliber student work, the Center for the Arts strives to engage, educate, and elevate the human spirit.

AAC members will help ensure equitable programming that reflects the college’s diverse community, while advancing the mission of the Center for the Arts, which includes supporting a wide range of professional artists and encouraging excellence in the performing arts.

“We look forward to receiving interest forms from our community from those interested in helping to develop performing arts programming that will enrich the cultural lives of El Camino College faculty, staff, students, and area residents,” said Center for the Arts Director Rick Christophersen.

All interested community members are invited to complete a short application form and share any applicable experience and/or interest in the arts.
