El Camino College Art Gallery to Present “Doodle and Dream”
The El Camino College Art Gallery presents “Doodle and Dream,” an exhibition where a wide range of artists access and reflect the subconscious, meditative and sometimes non-conscious state of mind in their creations. “Doodle and Dream” runs through Oct. 3, with workshops and receptions that invite others to join the creative community.
Inspired by the artistic process of Salvador Dalí, who took short naps to gain inspiration by the visions of that space between sleep and pure consciousness, co-curators Lauren Kasmer and Michael L. Miller gathered a group of artists for the exhibition who are quite varied in their artistic style, but all share their creative expressions that celebrate the transitional states of mind.
Featured artists include Pamela Burgess, Serge Attukwei Clottey, Shana Nys Dambrot & Osceola Refetoff, Ric Heitzman, Bonita Helmer, Linda Jacobson, Bruce Kasmer, Lauren Kasmer, William Lemon, Rodnie Nelson, Joanna Skumanich, Esther Pearl Watson, Lynda Weinman, and Jody Zellen.
