El Camino Community College District Board of Trustees Conducts Annual Reorganization Meeting
The El Camino Community College District Board of Trustees named new officers of the board for 2023 during its final public meeting of the year on Monday, December 19, 2022.
As part of its annual organizational meeting, the board appointed Trustee Kenneth Brown as Board President. Trustee Trisha Murakawa was named the Board’s Vice President, and Trustee Katherine Maschler will continue to serve as Board Secretary. The Board’s Immediate Past President Nilo Michelin and Clifford Numark will continue to serve as board members. Sidney Lee will also continue her term as Student Trustee until the end of the 2022-2023 academic year.
Cliff Numark and Nilo Michelin ran unopposed in November’s Statewide Election, thus extending their respective terms for another FOUR years.
The Board also renewed its committee assignments. Trustee Michelin will continue to serve as the District representative to the Los Angeles County Committee on School District Organization. Trustee Brown will continue to represent the District at the Los Angeles County School Trustees Association. Trustee Maschler will continue to serve on the El Camino Community College District Foundation Board of Directors. Trustee Murakawa will review nominations for membership on the California Community College Trustees Board and make a recommendation the Board of Trustees.
Regular board meetings are open to the public and are generally scheduled for 5 p.m. on the third Monday of each month.
