El Camino College Art Gallery to Present “Telling Stories”
The El Camino College Art Gallery will present the work of artists who tell stories through painting, puppetry, recipe sharing, quilt making, culinary performance, and photography. In the expressive “Telling Stories” exhibition, Jane Chafin, Joyce Dallal, Marsian De Lellis, Joseph Hardesty, Michele Jaquis, Lauren Kasmer & Joyce Dallal, Thomas Kidd, Karen Medley, Rosalyn Myles, Mei Xian Qiu, Craig Torres, and the Wednesday Gang Quilting Group start a conversation through artwork and workshops. “Telling Stories” runs through March 9, with ongoing daily workshops and several receptions that invite others to join the dialogue.
One highlight of the exhibit is a curated title wall at the entrance of the gallery called “Our Stories: A Self-Portrait of El Camino College.” The ECC Anthropology Student Association sent out a campuswide call for students and employees to send in selfies along with an optional short story, which will be posted in this space.
