Web Content Accessibility

Digital accessibility ensures that everyone in the El Camino College community has equal access to information, learning, and connection. This portal is your central hub for creating inclusive digital content. 

Accessibility Deadline

As part of new federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title II requirements, all public colleges must make their websites, mobile apps, and digital documents, including PDFs, accessible under Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA.  

Colleges must be taking demonstrated action to comply with the April 24, 2026 deadline. 

Review Website Documents

Digital documents on the website that do not meet the accessibility standards must be deleted, marked as “archived content,” or remediated/fixed

All files uploaded to the website must be evaluated and action must be taken: 

  • Option 1: DELETE files that are outdated and/or no longer in use.  
  • Option 2: ARCHIVE files that are not actively used and cannot be deleted. 
  • Option 3: REMEDIATE & REUPLOAD files that are actively used.
