Cal Grant Preliminary Qualifications:

Grants are awarded based on financial need and academic performance; funds are limited.

  • California resident for at least one year.
  • Attend an eligible California college/university.
  • Pursue an undergraduate degree or vocational/career training.

How to Apply for a Cal Grant

  1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application by March  2.
  2. Submit a Cal Grant GPA Verification Form by March 2.

El Camino College is unable to verify high school GPA. Please contact your high school to verify high school GPA.

If your last semester at El Camino College was prior to Winter 2022, you must submit paper GPA.

2023-2024 Paper Cal Grant GPA Verification Form and academic transcripts deadline to submit to the El Camino College Financial Aid Office is August 25, 2023, for manual calculation. (NO EXCEPTIONS.)

El Camino College Financial Aid Office electronically submitted SSN and non-SSN GPAs to CSAC on 07/18/2023 for September 2, 2023 deadline.
