History

Our History program teaches students to apply historical methods and interpretations to better understand the cultural, social, political, economic, intellectual and cultural past in the US and the across the world. Students may earn an Associate of Arts for Transfer (AA-T) and transfer to a 4-year university to further their studies. History majors can pursue an array of careers including education, librarianship, research, analyst, museum curator, and more.

Degree

The AA-T degree in history puts you on a direct path to complete a bachelor's degree in a similar major at a California State University campus. You will also access priority consideration for admission to the CSU system.

  • Gain a strong academic foundation in history and prepare for university study.
  • Enroll in courses specifically designed to transfer to a CSU campus.
  • Take classes covering American history, early and modern civilizations, Latin America, Mexico, and many other topics.
  • Explore the economic, intellectual, cultural, political, social, and diplomatic institutions of the U.S. and world.
