First-year biotechnology students take introductory biotechnology lecture and lab, and take a beginning chemistry course. In the second semester, students take a laboratory skills course for biotechnology and microbiology. Students can continue in the second year with quality and regulatory compliance, and an advanced lab in proteins and biomolecules.
Students can apply for entry-level internships and jobs as laboratory technicians and laboratory assistants after their first year of coursework.
